where did that fence come from?

Every flyers worst nightmare is simply crashing. Not only is it going to cost you a hefty amount to fix...but your probably going to be off the field for at least two or three weeks. However, as hard as RC pilots try, there is always some kind of crash that every pilot experiances sooner or later. No, there not fun, but iniviitable. When people crash, they tend to blame other things or people, sometimes even inaminate objects. I have heard them all, Someone elses radio was on, the agricultural equiptment interefered, my battery was low, there was a cross wind, whatever. lol for my crash i take the blame completely. I was still fresh on the buddy box, and it was one of my first days practising landings in crosswind conditions. I was doing good off the start, downwind was good, turn on to base, that was good to, turn on to final, all still good. I lined it up with the runway and started my final desent at roughly 50 feet or so. i was coming in fast and at a rather steady decent, but that was okay, I still had total controll. As i got down to the five foot mark, and slowly, my tires were just about to hit the ground, a strong crosswind blew in. This caused the plane to shave violently and head for a bunch of trees in the forest. With some hardcore airleron and rudder imput, i got the plane turned around with no instructor imput. However, the plane blew back around again, and started heading straigt for the runway divider fence. Quickly the instructor jumped to his controlls, but it was to late! the plane collided with the fence along with some loud smashing, breking and engine sputtering sounds. The result: fence cause the entire empennage to be torn off (servo arms remained lol) and cracked my longitudenal supporting board from the empennage to the firewall. The engine was torn off the firewall completely, and the firewall its self was cracked in more than one place.WOW! This took about two or three weeks to fiz, but surprisingly was not an expensive fix. Nothing a little glue and balsa wood work cant fix. This was my crash story. If you can relate *which i am sure you can) or have any comments, please dont be afriad to post one.

SOWTIME 100 finishings

after 2 uears of undergoing construction, my showtime 100 is nearing the final stages. lately, i have been working on small (but mandatory) touches. A skywriter smoke system and the interior of the cockpit. i recently purchased a custom maded 1/5 scale extra 900 panel, from TEAM PROPAG. it looks outstanding in the tainted glass of the cockpit. I recently purchased the JR X9303 system, getting this in was a bit of a set back, as it was my first time installing a radio from scratch. However it is going to be 500% worth it! i cant wait to experiance for myself the ever so talked about x9303 in action!
-coming this spring....
